Here's
the Copper
comic for May 2005. This one took a little longer than
usual. It did feel good going back to using only a couple of layers,
though. On the last two strips, I separated everything on layers,
making the files enormous and a bit hard to work with. For this
one, I painted only on one layer, and did the title and a couple
of the details on separate layers. I get a lot of people asking
me what I use to color Copper, and many of them assume it's vector.
It's actually a couple of very basic Photoshop tools: the hard
round paint brush set at 100 percent opacity, the paint bucket,
and the magic wand. That's pretty much it. While I use a lot of
fancy custom brushes on Daisy and my other projects, it's a great
exercise coming back to Copper and having to limit myself to some
basic tools.
