Yesterday
afternoon, I decided to dust my patio, which actually counts as
exercise for me since the only thing else I've been doing recently
is drawing. So I was getting some exercise, when I came upon the
corner nearest my front door, and there she was... The Black Widow!
Now, I'm not entirely sure it was the same
one as before, but it was definitely bigger. It was also so
shiny it looked like a tiny machine. When I saw it, my eyes lit
up and it was like that moment in Pulp Fiction when Butch
happens upon Vincent Vega's uzi while he's taking a dump, only
not quite as dramatic. Like Vega, however, the spider suffered
a pretty anticlimactic demise. I had the broom in hand, so I swept
it out onto the patio and smashed it with one strike of the broom.
Afterwards, I felt a little sad, but I thought about how glad
I was to not be resting my head five feet from that thing at night,
as the sun set on the horizon and I swept the patio triumphantly.
Again,
hire these people! :)
And
Happy Birthday Dave!
