Been
listening to a lot of Chris
Appelhans's music lately. Pretty neat to have a friend who
plays music you actually listen to. Here's a song of his called
Life
on the Moon. You know what's cooler than that? Watching another
one of your friends draw a comic inspired by the song for the
next volume of Flight,
which, by the way, is going to be a real treat for everyone. Some
of the material coming in is simply jaw-dropping...
I'm
currently drawing a crazy number of pages a day in order to get
Daisy Kutter Chapter Three done in time, so I'm trying to find
any way to avoid burning out at the drawing table right now. In
fact, I just found another cool chord combination on the guitar.
Rock!
Justifying
the workload...
I
also realized that I really love being able to do work on my own
schedule. Sure, the workload is currently insane, and it requires
more self-discipline than I probably have, but man, I just love
the stuff I work on and I love the fact that I can take some time
out of the day, whenever I want, to just go out and do stuff.
So every time someone tells me "you're nuts!" when they
see how much work I produce and the hours I keep, I think back
on all the time I spend freely playing my guitar and relaxing
on my porch (10 minutes), and I smile politely... wincing... in
pain....
ah,
the life...
